IELTS is an acronym of The International English Language Testing System, it is one of the most popular and important English language proficiency tests. Important because it’s widely accepted and recognized by over 10,000 organizations around the globe. IELTS is one of the major English-language tests in the world, others being the TOEFL, TOEIC, PTE A, and OPI/OPIc, it tests the student’s English Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking skills.

The duration of the entire test is 2 hours 55 minutes and is divided into- Listening: 40 minutes (including the 10-minute transfer time),
Reading: 60 minutes,
Writing: 60 minutes,
Speaking: 11–14 minutes.

The two branches of the IELTS test are Academic and General Training.
